She shook her head helplessly. "There's nothing more to say." Her eyes trailed down to the pictures. She shuffled through them with her hand, spreading them over the table. Her eyes froze on Liam. Her already suffering heart stopped beating for a few moments and it felt like her breath had been squeezed out of her by a cold, cruel fist. She hesitated and shook her head. "These men were killed, either in the war or in prison..."

She squinted through the telescope, adjusting it. "Nothing interesting yet." She nodded and authorized the probes to be launched.

He nodded, "I see.." He gathered up the documents and placed them back in a folder labeled with her name. "That's all for now Ms. Hiroshima, but I must warn you that you will be observed, at least for a short time. Some of this information has just been given to us and the company is merely concerned, I'm sure you understand." The light grid snapped off in an instant as Burke held open the door, "You're free to go." He offered another disingenuous smile.

"Act as quickly as you can, we're burning fuel fast in this atmosphere." He steadied the ship as they crossed the breadth of the world, he prepared to turn and cross back again. He looked out the portside window of the cockpit, he could clearly make out lush landscapes below and bodies of water, but the question was who or what was in there.

"As well I should be," she glared at the Chief, nostrils flaring. She whisked herself down the hall. Out of sight, she slowed down and pressed a hand against the corridor, trying to make her heart restart. She took in a deep breath and pounded a fist against her chest, trying to drive out the pain this ordeal had caused. She took a shuddering breath and slid down the wall to a crouch and put her hands over her face. Breathing deeply, she denied herself tears.

Carmine's eye appeared on the overlay of Aya's PII. "Hello Officer Hiroshima, my sensors tell me you are suffering emotional distress. Is there anything I can do to assist you?"

She ran her hands thorugh her hair, which had become quite tousled. She tried to calm herself down when Carmine's image appeared. "Flush the security chief down the garbage hatch and then we can talk." She snickered.

"I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue with a crew-member. I will ensure someone talks to the chief on your behalf." "Is there anything else I could do for you? The pavilion has many stress-relieving activities if you are feeling over-exerted and our medical staff is on 24-hour standby if you are in need."

Celeste worked quickly, launching a probe specifically for gathering mineral samples. Officer Hiroshima had, to Celeste's happiness, signed on almost immediately to her posting, which was good, she was the best. Celeste wanted to make sure both she and the atmosphere specialists had a good group of samples before they even started preparing to go planetside.
"Man, Doc, there's life all over the place!" One of her assistants exclaimed. "I'm getting readings in a blanket from all over the planet, I can't tell what it is though."
"Just focus on getting as many preliminary readings as you can for the moment, we'll figure the rest out later."
She glanced at the clock and moved to the cockpit, judging they'd pushed the time about as much as they could. She leaned in. "We've got some good samples and pictures, we're ready to head back."

He nodded in response as Celeste leaned in, speeding the ship off towards the distant Godspeed. (Fast forward) Liam started to slowly bring the ship in to dock, but suddenly something came over the controls, and he lost all control of the ship. The electronics were completely lost , the ship started the lean and pitch to the left, it's control thrusters completely unresponsive. The left edge of the docking bay loomed. "Proximity alert" The ship's VI warned. Liam grabbed his communicator and shouted over the line, "Hold on to something, we're going to--" He cut off his own sentence, quickly dialing in a command to cut gravity to the passenger hold to prevent physical trauma, but there was not enough power to control the whole ship. The ship crashed into the left side of the docking bay, throwing Liam onto the ground as the ship grated roughly against the side, producing a gut-wrenching deep metal groan. A rapid siren began to sound as the hull was damaged. He scrambled to his feet, pulling hard on the manual controls to try to salvage the landing. The ship careened back to the right and slammed into the docking bay floor, crushing the landing gear and throwing Liam again to the wall, slamming his head, he didn't stand back up.

"Holy shit...." Jinx spun in her chair, eyes widening, and sent klaxon alarms blaring all through the docking bay. Crash in Dock 143! Crash in Dock 143! Alert emergency crews and medical personnel! That's the planetside shuttle, use caution when approaching. But get your asses down there!! She jacked into the shuttle itself with a few quick synapse fires and narrowed her eyes. Jacobs? Celeste? Are you guys all right?
Screams echoed through the shuttle. Lucky for the equipment it was all bolted down. Not so lucky for the human aspect. "Grab onto something!!!" Celeste grabbed hold of a bar and braced herself right in time to stop herself from being thrown. One of the assistants lost his grip and was thrown clear across the shuttle. She was thrown down, slamming hard enough into the floor to knock the wind out of her and crack her elbow painfully. She looked up, dazed, as they screeched to a halt. One of the atmosphere doctors climbed shakily to his feet and went to help the fallen assistant. Celeste helped the others up, swaying on her feet. She looked forward. "Jacobs?"
No answer.
She limped to the cockpit and swore when she saw him, crouching beside him and dragging the emergency kit out of a small door in the wall. She flipped it open and knelt over him to check him over, though she looked up when Jinx's voice echoed. "Jinx, get us some medical officers in here, Jacobs hit his head, I think, and one of my assistants is injured too."
Hang tight, Doc, someone is coming. What the hell happened??
"I have no idea except right before we crashed everything shut down suddenly, all our equipment, everything. It must have shut down the shuttle itself too." Celeste checked Liam over for broken bones, relieved she didn't find any.
Jinx's eyes narrowed and she started going over the shuttles computer banks. How in the hell had THAT happened?

Being one of the first to get word of the crash, Burke burst into the docking bay with a small crew following him. "It's always something on this damn ship.." He began ordering them about, "Get that fire under control, and get that boarding hatch open, I don't care if it won't respond." Some of the maintenance crew approached the hatch and wedged a hydraulic lifter into the edges, forcing the hatch open. The boarding ramp slid out without restraint, slamming into the ground with a clang. Burke motioned to the medical personnel and they all rushed on board. As he emerged in the main hold Burke waved a couple of the paramedics to the wounded assistants. He slid the door open to the cockpit and stepped inside, "You okay doctor?" He knelt next to Liam, feeling his pulse, "Good thing he's alive, crashing a shuttle like this, he's got some explaining to do." Another paramedic entered the cockpit and they began lifting him to a gurney for transport to the medical deck.

"Thank you Carmine." She stood up and straightened her clothes, running a hand through her hair to try and salvage her appearance. "There is no need to talk to the Chief, Carmine. I'll handle things myself. It's all right, I'll be fine..." The pavilion was not a bad idea. She'd head to the excercise area and pound out her frustrations. She stopped when she heard the sirens. Shit. Dr. Celeste was on that ship. She hopped her colleague was all right.

Burke accompanied the medical personnel as they carried the unconscious Liam down the halls toward medical deck. They began a descent down a long corridor. Burke noticed Aya near the end, as they approached her he smirked and tipped his hat. He then yelled at a gathering crowd to clear the way.
