Karine's shoulders hunched as if someone had just jabbed her.
"I'm sorry, brother, you left me no choice." She said quietly, and twisted the blades hard in his body

"Hey, hey," Orpheus put a hand on her back in alarm. "What's wrong, Karine? Are you hurting?"
"Damn you," he said again and spat out blood on her cheek, then let out a terrible cry as the blades cut up his insides. His body went slack, as did his wings, and the weight of him caused his wounded body to free itself from the blades only to fall down to earth. His wings curled up haphazardly around him as he had no control and his body struck the earth hard. The hellfire withdrew first, leaving only a soft aura of shadow around him. He was very still, and one could not tell if he had died. No one dared get close.

"Nothing..." she said stiffly. "I just...hate being reminded I can fight with everything in me and I'm never quite good enough."
Marissa landed near by, studying the body curiously

"Never quite good enough?" Orpheus narrowed his eyes a little as he knit his brow. "To whom? You certainly are worth quite a damn to me, Karine."
Azazell only managed to roll himself onto his side as he choked up blood, his frame shaking violently. He reached out a hand and scratched at the pavement but did not have the strength to move again. His shivers became less and less violent as his body began to give out. He couldn't even let out a word as his eyes rolled towards Marissa. Even the last look he gave was one of malice.

She gave him an uncertain look, not quite sure if she could believe him. This odd unbelief in herself seemed to have come to the days when she was human. "But when it comes down to it, Bates needs to ram that other form onto me when he thinks I'm not enough"
Marissa simply watched him, pitying and merciless. He was a damned thing like other damned things and beyond her reach now, she was simply making sure he died

Orpheus shook his head a little, smiling softly at her. He couldn't make her feel worthy, she would have to find that in herself. But he was there, and that was all he could do. He only hoped that she would find some comfort in his presence. His eyes moved down to the battlefield and stood up to move to the edge of the tower. "The Archon has struck the fallen one down," he observed in some surprise.
Shadows flared up around Azazell's dying form, screetching in agony and dread as the shadows moved off and sunk into the ground.
There was a great rumbling as the stone elementals started to crumble and disentegrate, the huge rocks tumbling down as they hadn't the magic to keep together. Abominations, demons and skeletal beings alike drew down to whence they came. An eerie silence crept over the city as the darkness was diminished. Azazell grew very still, and it appeared that he had died.
Cerebrus started laughing when the angel fell, observing through the orb. His power flared up and returned to him, as did the angel's own power, as was the bargin. He was all the stronger for it, and felt the surge of power within him. Flames flickered in his eyes and his body sparkled with hellfire before receeding into him.
"It is done," he purred in pleasure.

Karine, on the other hand, didn't seem surprised at all. "I didn't think he could beat her, not even with whatever was backing him."
Marissa would have wished him peace except she was certain he wasn't going to get it. She turned her glowing eyes to the remains of the army that had gathered around him, most of whom were slinking away. She slaughtered a few of them to get the point across, roaring: "Unholy things, AWAY!"
They fled.
"That will teach me to doubt you," the succubus said, smiling in malicious enjoyment. She shivered, there was always an enjoyable tingle in the air when he gained power so.

Orpheus frowned a little. "It's a pity. I was hoping he'd do better."
"There is risk in every deal I make, that is why I choose so carefully, my dear." Cerebrus grinned at her and drew her close for a kiss. "It is worth the wait."

Karine cocked an eyebrow at him. "You were?"
"So I see" She lifted her arms up, twined them around him and kissed him in return

Orpheus shrugged a little. "I came from Hell, Karine. She kills my kind. I couldn't help a little but root for the fallen angel's side."
Cerberus smiled at her. "Now, when was the last time you got a little more power for yourself, my love?"

"But, Orpheus, he was so annoying. Not to mention he would have killed you for even suggesting you were anything like him anything close to his level." She pointed out.
"Long....I hadn't really much thought about it, to be honest." She chuckled

Orpheus chuckled a little at the first remark. He scratched the back of his neck a little, suddenly bashful for his wishful thinking. "Yes, that is true. But I wonder..." He looked out towards the city.
Cerebus smiled. "Of course I may be the jealous type. But imagine what we could do together with the power given to us." He curled his fingers into a fist. "The power that is ours to take."

Karine looked over at him curiously, cocking her head to one side. "Wonder what?"
"Such as?" She ran her fingers over his fist, down his arm lightly

"Who gave the fallen angel that power," he finished his thought, looking back to her. "The power radiating off of him, it was familiar to me. I think it was one of my brothers," he raised his brow a little.
"We could have the mortal world in the palm of our hand, we could be as gods. As you once were, Munkar. Together, we can have anything we desire."

"One of your brothers? You said earlier you thought it was a relative, I know..." Karine cocked her head, looking thoughtful.
"Darling, I think this world has plenty of gods already," she pointed out. She shrugged. "I find it tiresome, rather. I am content as I am. However," she gave him that smile of hers. "What you want, I want for you."
