He put his arm around her, letting her snuggle in close. He pressed his forehead against hers, sighing in contentment. "Goodnight, my love," he murmured.

Normally she hated being inside for any amount of time. It was amazing how that could change in a heartbeat, now she didn't want to be anywhere but right here right now. She kissed him softly, closing her eyes and letting herself drift off in his hold, feeling safe and warm

Vladik rose well before morning, restless and eagar. He sent for breakfast to come to their room. Once Rauni was awake, he proceeded to pack his belongings. He wrapped the priceless weapons carefully and placed them into a large saddle satchel. The rest was quick, he did not have all that many posessions. He chose to dress in his old clothes, which had been stitched and repaired by a seamstress and washed so well they looked almost new. He chose to discard his old, ragged cloak for one of the new ones gifted by the seelie. The rest of the clothes, however, he kept. But he deemed them too fine for traveling and packed those away into a a second saddlebag, which was watertight.
After eating breakfast with Rauni, Vladik couldn't seam to sit still. He kept sitting and standing, and fidgeted, waiting for word from the king.

Rauni had at first resisted new clothes, but Rhyann knew her too well and had sent loose pants and a leather vest that allowed her to move freely. She pranced about, testing the give of the fabric.

Vladik chuckled at Rauni. You look good.

She grinned at him and twirled a bit, posing for him.

He walked up to her and put his hands around her upper arms and gave her a kiss. You're so cute.

She hopped into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist and kissing him back. So are you. She pinched his cheek playfully

Vladik caught her up and spun her around, laughing. "No one has ever called me cute. That's not the first thing to come to mind when someone looks at me." He spoke rather than signed since he was holding her in his arms.

There was a light rapping on the door. Vladik set Rauni down on her feet and went to answer the door. The same man who had summoned them the night before bowed respectfully and relayed his message. "The king and queen awaits you at the palace steps. Please bring any of your belongings with you."
"We will be right there, thank you." Vladik nodded to the seelie and closed the door after the man took his leave.
Vladik walked to the bed and picked up the saddlebags, as well as a small pack put together by Rauni. Ready?

She nodded. She had very few possessions, in fact only the clothes on her back and the dagger he'd given her. Everything else were things Rhyann insisted she take.

He grinned at her and walked out of the room, followed by Rauni. He made his way down the corridors to exit the palace.
Awaiting them were the king and queen, several councilmen and elders, two soldiers, and two horses. Vladik recognized his own horse and there was a white mare beside it, most likely for Rauni. Vladik approached the king and set the bags down at his own feet.
"Good morning, Highnesses." Vladik bowed politely and were given bows in return.
"Good morning," Tal returned the greeting with a smile. "Are you both ready to start your journey?"
Vladik nodded an affirmative as Rauni nodded as well.
"Excellent. These two fine men," Tal gestured to the soldiers, "will escort you out of the forest. They will return when you are outside the borders. We have included supplies tied to your horses saddles."
Tal looked to Rauni. "I know you typically do not choose to ride, but as you will be traveling quite a ways we wanted to give you a horse."

Rauni bowed in thanks.

Tal smiled warmly at them both, and signaled for the soldiers to saddle up.
The elders moved forward to wish both Vladik and Rauni a blessing. The councilmen gave their thanks and wished them safe journey.
Vladik attached the two saddlebags on either side of his horses saddle, making room for them by adjusting the bags slightly. His hand brushed against a leather bag towards the front of the saddle and there was a cheerful clink. He curiously investigated and saw a wealth of seelie gold within it, funds to see them comfortable for at least a year.
He looked at Tal and thanked him for his generousity, who raised a hand and said it was the least they could do.
