Aya frowned deeply, a flash of anger in her eyes. She didn't trust the Chief farther than she could throw him. She sized him up. She could take him down, in a heart beat. She didn't like the look of the room as they entered. It looked like... Her fears were realized as she sat in the chair and the lights went on. She raised a hand over her eyes in an attempt to shield them. This only meant one thing. Interrogation. Just what kind of questions? "I... Yes, that is correct." She ground her teeth together. "Get to the point and stop wasting my time." She narrowed her eyes, her black eyes flashing in contempt. It wasn't something she was prepared to hear, much less reminisce about. That was a very painful time in her life.

He chuckled, "Don't have a place to grow them? You seem to have done a great job on the ship, best fabricated forest I've ever seen." He snapped the ship into auto-pilot and stood up, turning to face her. He leaned against one of the walls and folded his arms, "Never been to Earth, people don't say much about it these days. So you're a bonafide Earth-girl, I bet you never stop hearing about that from.. suitors." He turned his head to the side a moment, checking the distance of the planet. "Have you always been in this field?"

"I see." Her outburst took him a bit by surprise, "Belligerence won't help your case any Ms. Hiroshima." He shifted in his seat, staring her in the face, "Well we all know how that ended, but what I'd like to know is how you escaped the fate of so many others that were like you, ending up dead or imprisoned." Registering her anger, one small non-lethal sentry turret silently dropped from the ceiling in the corner, trained on her.

"It's the first really successful one of that size, certainly one of the first that could make an impact with oxygen on a ship this big. Though don't get me wrong, any terrarium on a ship can make a big difference. Ships we lived on with them always had better air than ships that didn't." One of the reasons Celeste had pushed so much for them to focus on one on the Godspeed. She had to chuckle. "I didn't have time for suitors, I was too focused on my education. Actually, do you know, I didn't know being born on Earth was anything special at all when I was growing up. It didn't make much difference to the spacer types. It wasn't until I went to school down there that I had any idea about that kind of stereotype." She glanced over her shoulder. "Don't tell anyone from the company but frankly I've always found it ridiculous. And yes, although I didn't serve any company or in an...official...capacity until a few years ago."

Her case... what? Aya snorted, leaning back in her chair. "You must forgive me, Chief, but some things are best left alone." She eyed the small turret in the corner of the room and sat up a little straighter. She'd behave. She had no other choice. "I was allowed to rejoin society in exchange for good behavior." She said tirely.

"Really? So what've you been doing all this time?" He was sincerely curious at this point, although their time for discussion was running short. "I would've thought most careers for people of science like yourself were focused around mega-corps."

"Uh-huh.. and what about your father? Did he live through this ordeal?" He prepared for the inevitable back-lash of this question.

Aya went pale, the only color was the flaring red in her cheeks. She ground her jaw. Now that subject was even worse. "My father was a loyalist, to a fault." She said flatly. "He was with me on that ship that fled Saurn. I was there to protect him. He was my father, after all, who could blame me. Society was not so quick to forgive a stubborn old man clinging to "old glory" as he was. He died in that stinking prison."

"I worked with a small, independent group of scientists. Some of the things I wanted to study were considered too...eccentric...by normal corps." She looked away, studying the planet.

He nodded, "So this conflict cost you your livelihood, your home, your family, and anything else you may have been clinging to. " He leaned forward and studied her intently, "Do you think this has had any lasting effect on you or your loyalties?"

"I see.. well you'll have to tell me sometime." He smiled, half-joking. "Well you should probably get back to your colleagues, we're almost there." He took a seat back in the pilot's chair and activated manual control, bringing them into orbit of the world. From their height, the ship's telescope could zoom to an extreme perspective of almost 100 feet from the ground. Something felt strange in the controls though, something felt like it was pressing in on the ship, and the lights on the control panel would fade out for the briefest of moments. Liam murmured something about atmospheric disturbance and pressed on.

She leaned forward slowly, her eyes boring into his. "I only have myself, it's been that way for years. I live with my decisions every single day, don't think I don't. "I've worked myself down to the bone to get where I am. I've done so much for the company, with no complaint of my own. If you ask me I'm as loyal as they come."

She looked startled and flustered that so much time had passed without her noticing. She actually flushed a bit, nodding as she pushed away from the wall to go back and make sure everything was ready for testing.
She wasn't a pilot but she knew ships very well, enough when the press on the ship came, she noticed the change in atmosphere. She blinked and shook her head. She headed for the telescope, peering into it as she instructed her assistants to begin with the readings.

He nodded to her responses, "Is there anything else I should know? Something you may not be telling me?" He threw down several pictures onto the table that were of varying people, one of them was a very young Liam in TSF uniform. "Do you recognize any of these men?"

He activated the PA on the ship, "How's it looking down there?" He tried to keep the ship on a steady round, too much speed could seriously throw off some readings. "Probe-launchers are fired up if needed."
