"Thank you, Sister Hilda." They hadn't been introduced, of course, but that was par for the course with Angel. She turned her attention to her father, her face and eyes lighting up into genuine warmth as she hugged him back. "I picked up on whatever Mom is doing..." She frowned a bit. "Mom..."
"I was trying to trace whatever is powering this dagger back to its source but I can't navigate it. It's too much for me. I think it's a conduit of some sort, drawing power through it."
"It is," Angel confirmed. KD stood and embraced her tightly, kissing her forehead. "Let me see it, Mom." KD might walk the border between light and dark with her powers but for Angeline, there simply was no border. KD somewhat reluctantly handed her the dagger.

*Zen took a step toward his wife and placed a hand on Angel's shoulder encase he needed to pull her away like he had KD, Hilda continued to just sit quietly, not sure what to say or do. All of this was way above her paygrade as far as she was concerned. It was her duty to take care of the Archive. But protection was left to the Guardian Order, now that the message had been passed. She just simply waited to see what the Last Guardian would do*
"Please be careful little one" Zen whispered to Angel right before she began

Angeline reached up and squeezed his hand before gently removing it. "I need to concentrate, Dad..." She did not object to him standing close to her, though. KD came up to join him, laying a hand on his back, her green eyes fixed on her daughter.
Angel, like both her siblings, had learned the hard way about being arrogant about their powers, which was only to be expected when they were younger. She held the dagger and closed her eyes, breathing slowly as she allowed her mind to press into the dagger, trying to pick up on what kind of power it was.
