Orpheus smiled a little. "I think there are more pressing matters right now than worrying about whether or not I'm sleeping with whom, Adrian."
Azazell stayed a distance away, but his booming voice continued to resound with power. "I do not wish to become a part of your Church, angel. I seek to destroy it. And I will."
Huge abominations and dark elementals rallied to his cry, turning to the Church. With weapon and fist they attacked the barrier, their rage overcoming any pain inflicted by the holy light. If one fell, another scrambled to take it's place.

"I don't. There's nothing we can do. But I have my answer anyway." The blind man sat back in his chair, looking smug.
We would not have you anymore than the Father would even if you did. The Archon replied coldly. She cut off communication, rising on the Spire. She'd hoped to never use this, but obviously she would have to if she was to save the lives of her followers. She closed her eyes as paladins and holy warriors phased unharmed through the barriers and clashed with the dark forces. The war gods and others also joined the fray, tearing at anything with flesh, light or dark.
Her wings glowed and her voice rose even above the snarls and clashes of battle, the song of the ancient tongue of the Father only Azazell and other Fallen like him would understand, calling out to something deep beneath the ground around the church very few had even an inkling existed.
Munkar, watching from a scrying sphere within Cerberus's lair, watched, her brows furrowed. Her eyes widened as the ground around the church rumbled, strange pieces of what looked like bone laced with gold rising up out of the earth as strands of light danced around it. Her eyes widened and she let out a string of awed swearing in the infernal language.
Marissa was still singing. Child of the fallen, now redeemed...arise. Alakai, rise my warrior...
The gold bones and light came together to form a massive guardian, radiating with power. It shifted ponderously, forming a sword of light with one hand, and moved toward the barrier. Like the rest of the warriors, it passed through without harm.

Orpheus tilted his head a little to the side, regarding Adrian, then turned his eyes away, shaking his head a little. To what conclusion Adrian had made from that conversation was beyond him.
The fallen army retreated to rally together again in response to this new force, acting in unison with Azazell's command. His forces on the ground were not so lucky. Those who could fly, like him started to dive bomb the new threat. With the increasing number of enemies against how own forces, Azazell began to break out a sweat. But he woudln't let the Archon beat him. He soared to a new height, avoiding the bone warrior's swings.
"COWARD! Hiding behind your holy paladins and forces of Light. Come to me, Archon and fight me." Azazell taunted.

Perhaps luckily, Karine chose that moment to return, though Bates didn't accompany her in any physical shape. She looked tired now, dark circles beneath her eyes that hadn't been there minutes ago. Adrian's head turned upward, as if he could see through the layers of stone and dirt that separated them from the surface. "Well, isn't that interesting..."
Munkar said to Cerberus almost casually. "One of her holy creatures resurrected a Nephelim for her. She's got one of my nephews."
Azazell's taunt went unanswered. The Nephelim, Alakai, turned toward the fallen angel, regarding him with eyes filled with light.

"What is?" Orpheus remarked instinctively. "Are you all right, Karine?" He said in a soft voice.
Cerberus narrowed his eyes a little, confused. "A Nephew of yours.?"
Azazell looked down at the Nephelim and frowned. Obviously, the Archon had chosen the Nephelim as her champion. He would have to defeat the Nephelim to draw her out. Azazell flew backwards a ways outside of the main tussle and beckoned the Nephelim towards him, brandishing a flaming sword.

Adrian, again much like Bates, didn't answer immediately. Of the three, Karine was the only one of them who ever gave a straight answer without any subtext whatsoever. She smiled at him a little bit. "Drained. He needed to manifest physically for a few moments."
Munkar laid her hand on him lightly, allowing a sort of transfer of thought to explain. It was something she could do only with him. The Nephelim were the offspring of angels and humans...or in the case of her sisters, angels and demons. The result of he first time a group of angels had fallen from grace. Deliberately this time, tempted by the daughters of man and the demons that had taken on human form. This one was the offspring of demon and angel, therefore he was the son of her sister.
In a show that was a deliberate insult to the angel, the Nephelim followed its orders, turning it's attention to devastating Azazell's forces to keep them from entering the dome.

Azazell spat on the ground and turned his anger on his enemies, landing aground and swiping at enemies one after another with his sword.

Good and neutral forces alike flocked to the Nephelim, spreading out behind him to attack, a living river of light

Azazell stretched out his black wings, at their full length as a flare of fire, non-comsuming, fired up along his frame and feathers. It burned as brightly as the light, a light of hellfire. His muscles strained with this new power. His sword shined brightly as well with the fueled flames, almost blinding in it's fel light. He roared a battle cry and began to fight for his life.

As the forces were starting to be turned away from the Church and she was certain Alakai was able to take care of it, protect their people, Marissa finally materialized out of the dome, sweeping into the air, her wings shining.

Azazell's eyes raised up to follow the Archon but was forced to look away to block a blow from an enemy and striked him down before turning to another attacker. The forces of light created a circle around him, backing away slightly in response to the fallen angel's battle prowess, as he held his own.

They backed away, turning their attention to the remaining dark forces.
Archon Marissa descended toward the fallen angel, light shining from her. Her blessed sword was shining in one hand. The other held a sword crafted by man but it had so many blessings on it, so many prayers of the faithful for their archon's safety, that it almost glowed itself.
Munkar watched silently through the scrying orb and a second witness to the battle also joined as Karine climbed to the tower that rose above the manor and watched the two figures.

Orpheus was soon behind her, perching himself on the edge of the tower while staring down at the Archon. "Looks like the standoff is finally starting."

Karine still looked tired and drawn. She'd been quiet since she'd come back from whatever talk she'd had with Bates. She simply nodded.
