Celeste met his gaze silently. She wasn't afraid of him, or EarthGov. She didn't think she'd ever be afraid of anything again. That showed in her eyes too. She wasn't defensive, she didn't care if he believed her. The indifference in her gaze was almost disturbing. "I imagine the planet's influence had something to do with it."

He leaned back in his chair, "You don't seem too thrilled to be here. Did you have other plans?" He squinted at her, finding her demeanor to be out of place.

She looked away tiredly. "Does it matter?"

He gave a slight nod, realizing she wouldn't be of much use, at least not yet, "Well I'll have the medics give you a once-over and then you'll be released on your own recognizance to the crew deck. I expect we'll be getting back to the core systems unless our orders change." He waved her off, a few medics opened the door and waited for her. He'd have his agents keep an eye on her, she had the feeling of a flight risk.

"I don't need a medic, Aya was the one who was hurt." She rose, trying to move past the medics quickly.

When Aya was stable and able to move freely she was told Mr. Blackwood wanted to speak with her. Aya went slightly pale. She was escorted down the hall to the interview room and was told to wait here until she was summoned. Aya broke out in a light sweat, fidgeting with her sleeves while she waited.

She didn't appear injured so with enough persuasion the medics left Celeste alone. Scott walked to the door and opened it, leaning out. He nodded to Aya, "Come on in." He took his same seat and waited for her to sit. "What's your name? I hope you're more amicable than your friend."

She sat on the edge of the seat, her body rigid, clenching her knees with her fists. Aya’s eyes were uncommonly wide. Her fear of the situation read plainly on her face. “Um… my name’s Aya.”

He nodded, smiling, "Hello Aya, I'm Scott Blackwood. I'm an EarthGov Colonial Administration officer," He noted her expression, "Let me reassure you.. we're just here to help, we wouldn't even be here if we hadn't picked up the distress signal, this was a routine flight." He leaned forward, with a genuine smile, "Now if you don't mind I'd just like you to explain what has happened here, start from the beginning." He was curious if their stories would differ.

Celeste ruined it for herself. During the conversation with Blackwood, she'd managed to focus on the conversation and force the pain back but it was rearing back in her with a vengeance. Along with the pain was the increasing sense of dislocation a chanting in the back of her mind where's the rest of me where's the rest of me the further they got away from the planet. A sharp pain tore through her stomach and she couldn't hide the pain twisting across her face, making her sway on her feet. The guards with her became alarmed and called for the medics to come back, grabbing her arm and trying to get her to sit down. Celeste panicked and shoved him away, trying to run past him. Where she would go she didn't know, but faced with the idea that they'd lock her up now she was terrified. She didn't make a few steps before the harsh movement made pain rip through her entire body. She screamed, stumbling to her knees. Everything was a haze, she barely noticed the medic crouching beside her. "No..." Someone held her down, pinning her hands down, and her thrashing pulled the cloth she'd wrapped around her hands free. "Jesus..." The sight of the vines writhing beneath her skin made the guards release her and jerk back. "Oh my...God..." The medic stumbled back as well, her eyes wide with shock and horror.

Aya let out a breath, relaxing her hands. She eyed him for a few moment to gather if he was genuine. “I’m glad you found us.” She smiled a little. “To tell you the truth I thought we’d drift forever. We’re lucky your ship came along. I just hope you can do the same for the ones still down there.” She lifted a hand and scratched her neck, tilting her head to the side a little as she regarded Mr. Blackwood. “The Godspeed was sent by the EDC to research and exploit Zephyrus for the planet’s resources. My department specialized in mineralogy. I suppose you could say it was in the company’s best interests to put so much effort into it, money talks after all.” “But things didn’t go smoothly. It was a nightmare from the beginning. Something went berserk in Eden, that’s our arboretum. The same hostile plant life Dr. Metira found on the planet started going wild in the ship. I don’t know if it was the plants that did it, but the Godspeed started to malfunction. Eventually control was lost and the ship went down. There weren’t many survivors. Many of who did survive got killed by the vines or the creatures.” “The three of us, Dr, Metira Commander Jacobs and I, found the ship you found us in hiding near a colony. Jacobs sacrificed his own safety to make sure the two of us made it out alive.” She lowered her eyes, her voice becoming sad. “That’s who I’m hoping you can find.”

"I see. Apparently EDC wasn't supposed to be out here so unfortunately I'm not sure my superiors are going to waste resources and possibly lives on carpet-baggers." He shifted, looking concerned, "Although if what you two say is true this planet could become a major threat to interstellar commerce." He examined her face for any change in expression, "We'll at least be sending a probe to recover the Godspeed's flight recorder, so hopefully we can get a bit more of the picture." He stood, pushing his chair in, "You're free to go for now Aya, please don't hesitate to visit our medical deck if you need further help, and our crew deck is open to you and your friend. I'll be relaying some of this information to my superiors.. we'll see what they say." He gave a firm smile and walked out of the room. He rounded the corner on his way to the bridge and came cross Celeste and the commotion, he jogged up, "What's going on here?" He looked over the shoulder of some of the medics and saw the abnormalities in Celeste. He didn't say anything, just kept watching.

"I don't...I've never..." The medic shook her head, her eyes wide and snatched at one of the guards. "Get her into quarantine and don't touch those...those things..."
The pain was too much as they latched her arms together behind her and hauled her up. Celeste quit resisting and simply slumped in their hold, letting them take her. She closed her eyes tightly, furious with herself when she felt tears of pain and despair slipping from beneath her eyelids and down her cheeks.

But… Liam… Her brow furrowed and it looked as if for a moment she would break out in tears. She swallowed it up, lowered her eyes and nodded. "Zephyrus is dangerous, that as much I can agree with. There’s so many hostiles down there that I wouldn’t be surprised if you wanted to avoid it completely.” She spoke quietly and slipped out of her chair after he left and made her way out as well. Her heart sunk further. She may never seen Liam again. She didn’t even know if he was still alive. It pained her to think about it.

He folded his arms, watching as a hazmat team arrived and dragged Celeste away to a medical room. He followed them to the room and entered the adjoining room that observed it through a one-way mirror. He rubbed his chin, muttering to himself, "I knew you were hiding something doctor, but this.." Her attitude made it unclear what her attentions were. Was she intending to smuggle herself on-board to infect others or was she simply afraid of what was in her? He didn't know if it actually was any kind of infection but it seemed like a likely scenario, the agency had seen situations like this before with other contagions.
