It took all of Vladik's strength not to jump off the stool and turn the fool drunk into nothing more than a bloody carpet on the worn, wooden floor. He clenched his hands into fists and pressed them to his thighs so he would remain in control of them. "You will do nothing of the sort, and she isn't that kind of woman. I suggest you turn tail and get the hell out of this place or I will turn you out by force."
The bartender raised his hands in an attempt to placate the two men glaring coldly at once another. The drunk man eyed Vladik, made a sound of disgust, turned on his heel with a dismissive wave and a grunt. "You're not worth it."
Vladik shrugged his stiff shoulders and turned his head from one way to the other to try and shrug it all off and went back to his meal before it went cold. I wanted to kick that guy's ass. He snorted a little. Treating you like that... He shook his head.
Rauni had already finished and was playing with the mug in front of her, turning it so it left wet circles on the counter-top. He's right, I guess. He would send men to my cage when he had a lot of them over. They used me. She shrugged, her shoulders hunched, not looking at him. This had been bothering her for a bit, she wasn't sure if he'd known...if he'd turn away from her now because he knew.
Markus had said something about it when he'd first seen Rauni, hadn't he? "The Master lets everyone fuck her, doesn't even charge for it, didn't think he'd care if I tried it on..."
My candle burns at both ends It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends - It gives a lovely light.
