Scott stood in the corner of the engine room smoking a cigarette, eying Aya curiously from out of sight. Almost nothing went by on this ship without him noticing or hearing about it, it was his job after all. He hadn't decided if he'd stop her or not though, right after he had every crewman here demoted. She might be useful; Dr. Metria's ties were obvious but Aya was somewhat of a conundrum in this situation. She was down there but seemingly came out with little connections, something didn't add up. If he let her, she would probably lead him straight to the answers he needed.

"Sir?"
One of his agents spoke to him over his comm, quiet since he'd signaled he needed it. "Two things. One: the doctor is doing some seriously freaky shit. Watch the security tapes in quarantine sometime soon. Two: we've been shifting through the files we were able to find about the Godspeed. Not only did they have an AI, they had some kind of freaky human connector engine and guess who was the human they had." She sent a file to his PII he would surely recognize since the subject was wanted for a list of crimes as long as he was tall: Jinx Rostov.

He sighed, "Very interesting indeed, thanks for the information." Jinx, he scoffed at the name. They'd had some run-ins in the past, but Colonial Administration had never managed to get their hands on her. It wasn't a huge priority, she was only responsible for minor annoyances in the grand scheme of things; she was a dangerous hacker though and scoring her in this operation would just be the icing on the cake. It all seemed terribly convenient though, how had she ended up on a corporate ship right under their noses? EDC was seeming more and more crooked.

Aya was oblivious that Mr. Blackwood was watching her work. Truthfully, Aya was so caught up in helping out engineering that she was uncharaceristically unaware of her surroundings. She felt at home working with her hands and forgot the passage of time. At last she turned her wrist over to look at the time and stood bolt upright. "I have to go, thanks for the fun." "Anytime," the engineer gave her a brilliant smile. "You're really good. Come back and give us a hand sometime." Aya flashed a smile right back to him. "We'll see. Catch you later!" She rushed down the grid to the exit, cursing herself for forgetting the time. She didn't know if it was too late, the captain's promise... that is, if sentries would touch down on Zephyrus at all. She bolted down the hall as soon as she gained her bearings by consulting a map and tugged the engineer cap more firmly on her head to try and be more covert. She darted into a lift to take her to Inverness' belly where the flight deck was.

Up on the bridge, Commander Hayward frowned at the pilot. "What do you mean, we can't move forward?"
The pilot looked back at him, looking baffled and a little frightened. "Just what I said, sir...there's some kind of weird force holding us, letting us drift but we can't go much further forward. It's not pulling us back it's just...not letting us go any further..."

Scott donned an engineering trench coat and cap and brushed by Aya, running into her slightly and apologizing quickly as he walked off, his back turned. He had used the run-in to attach a small, nearly invisible tracker to her person. It was important to know where she went, but he also had to deal with Celeste, so leaving was not an option yet. He made his way back to Celeste's holding cell and approached the security guard at the monitors, "One of my agents said the doctor's been acting up, what've you got?"

The security guard was staring intently at the screen and actually jumped when he came in. "What? Oh, hello, sir." He seemed to shake off a slight daze. "I don't know if acting up is the right word..." He pointed to the screen.
Celeste was standing at the wall opposite the observation window. Before her was a startlingly well done sketch of some kind of ruined temple, the perspective of it stretched out to fit as if the viewer was standing before it looking up. How she'd drawn it was a mystery until she lifted her hand and pricked her finger, apparently with her nail, then added a line to the wall.
"She's awfully beautiful..." The security guard murmured.
On the screen, Celeste suddenly glanced over her shoulder. "The ship has stopped moving forward, I don't think you've been informed of that yet," she said, her tone matter-of-fact. "It won't let us go."

He took a seat at the observation window, folding his arms, "You didn't tell me you were an artist doctor." He smiled, "What won't let us go?"

She blinked at the drawing and cocked her head, looking at her finger like she wasn't sure how it had gotten there. "I'm not. Not that good, anyway. But the temple deserves a good drawing. It's even more beautiful in real life, you know."

Aya did a double take at the man who ran in to her, her eyes narrowing slightly. She tapped her toe on the lift. Come on, come on, come on… Once the doors had opened to the bottom floor of the Inverness she slowed down, tugging her cap down and putting her hands in her pockets. She watched just under the brim as she headed straight towards the flight deck. She didn’t pause at the door just walked in there, her insides seizing up in anxiety. Aya mumbled quickly that she was there for a maintenance check and wouldn’t take up too much of their time. The guards looked at each other and shrugged. Aya ducked out of line of sight as soon as she could and scanned the flight deck for the transporter holding the mechanized sentries. They were still loading them in, controlling them remotely. Encasing the sleek metal pod which held the CPU was the housing for the weapon systems. Two huge, mobile gatling guns were affixed to the grappling arms of the sentries. Supporting the body were jointed piston legs, making the machine capable of top speeds. The AI inside the pod was simple, programmed to only react in defense of itself or on behalf of civilians. A clear window capping the pod allowed for solar light to fuel the batteries. It was possible for a human to crawl inside the housing, but it was mainly for maintenance access. Aya snuck around to the back of the ship and found tools scattered about in the sidelines. She picked up a heavy wrench and edged towards the transport as carefully as she could.

"So you've been there.. what is this temple? Why did you go there?" He peered up at the mural, eying its intricacies.

There was a dust cover enshrouding some of the ship. Aya lifted it up a little, raised her eyes and looked around the hull of the transport. She found an access hatch to the cockpit. She looped the wrench in her belt, wanting to keep the heavy thing for defense, and hopped up on her toes to catch the nose of the ship and pull herself up to peek at the cockpit. No one was in there yet, the preliminary inspections and adjustments were performed before the pilot was given clearance to climb into the cockpit. She palmed the door open and slipped inside, letting it close gently behind her. Aya worked quickly finding a place to stow away in.

"I don't know, I just felt something drawing me to it. Control, Mr. Blackwood, is something you don't really miss all that much when you realize you never really had it."

He nodded slowly, "So this.. force.. drew you to this place? Do you feel it still has some influence over you even now? Through this.." He waved his hand in her direction, "intravascular infection?"

Celeste started to laugh. Just a low chuckle at first but it rose into a low gale of genuine amusement, making her lean against a clear spot of the wall, laughing so hard she was bent over. "Intravascular infection...oh, God, I love it..."
