The colony was completely dead, no sign of life or activity was apparent except for one house. It was the safehouse Liam and Celeste had used when they were stranded in the colony, the door swung open and closed by the wind, rattling against the wall.
Inside, on the floor just inside the door, Liam's custom pistol lay plainly on the ground - blood stained the handle. No bullets had been fired from the magazine, it was seemingly left there purposefully.

The sentinal left heavy footprints in the dust. It's legs folded down with a hiss and she climbed out and hopped onto the ground. She stepped forward, hands shaking, and picked up Liam's pistol from within the doorway. Aya steadied herself with a hand as the world started to go dark, her head spinning with a flood of emotions. Fear, confusion, worry... all for Liam. Where was he? She walked into the house to investigate since she had no further leads, shoving the pistol into her belt.

A tattered note lie on the counter near the door, a rock placed over it to keep it from blowing away.
It read:
They are coming, I cannot hide much longer, there really isn't a point in it anymore. Maybe I was holding onto some faint hope that I could find a way off here, but I knew inside that when I sent Aya and Celeste away, I sealed my fate on this rock. I'm not sure what they'll do with me when they find me. Obviously that thing.. Celeste's mother, has some kind of plan for me. Whatever the case, I have no regrets, I saved those two.. and that is all I wished. I write this in hopes that one day perhaps this planet will be surveyed and people will know what happened to me. I leave my pistol behind as a sign of my passing.. I had always wanted to give it to Celeste.. If you're reading this I am probably dead or worse, I hope Aya can forgive me.

She slipped the note from under the rock and squatted down against the wall to read it in the thin light. Her brow knit as she read, frowning more and more. Her heart sunk and her stomach pitched in a sickening feeling. She put her hand over her mouth reflexively. "Liam... Liam you idiot." Tears started to dot the page before she folded it up neatly and slid it into her back pocket. She didn't move for a few moments, breathing in and out deeply. No, he can't be dead. He can't be dead. I won't believe it, not unless I see his body. This had only left her unsatisfied, but it left a tear in her heart. She got to her feet and walked beside the sentinal, looking up at it. Was all hope lost? No. She climbed in again and closed the hatch, then turned it towards the Puritan.

"The only person down there that could possibly still be alive and not taken is Liam and all you have to do for that is let Aya go back down. She's his best hope." She didn't add that they couldn't really STOP Aya from going back down after Liam, she knew that down to her core. If they didn't send her down, Aya would find a way herself. She'd certainly proven herself more than capable. "You want my advice, Blackwood, just let me go back and forget anything you saw here. EarthGov lost The Puritan to this planet and the corporation lost the Godspeed. They couldn't control it, or understand it, and neither can you."
Let me try. The captain spoke through the overhead speakers in the room. Celeste.
She went very still. "Who is that?"
"That's the CO, Commander Hayward, Doctor." One of the techs said.
Celeste went so pale it blanched her olive shaded skin a sickly white.
Celeste, for once in your life, can't you just make things simple? The commander's voice held a hint of fondness and exasperation.
For a moment, just an instant, there was an expression of such complete and utter hate on her face, it was chilling. Then the overhead speaker crackled, spitting sparks, a green flash came from the console screens, and the entire Quarantine area went dark.

As the power died the red emergency lights flicked on, but Celeste was no longer where she had been sitting. Scott jumped to his feet, "Get some officers down to quarantine we might have a breach." He placed his hands on the glass, peering into the darkness of her room.

She had to get out. She had to get away. Celeste was running blindly, aware she was no longer in the room but she didn't know where she was. She just couldn't stay in the dark with him around....

He dashed into the hallway, looking around for where she had fled, but she wasn't in sight. "Security on alert, the prisoner in quarantine has escaped. Non-lethal solutions only." He wasn't sure if she was dangerous, maybe just scared. Why did the captain set her off? He began walking down the halls at a quick pace, keeping an eye out for her.

She was in light again, looking around. She had a purpose now, heading down to the lower part of the ship. Escape pods...or something...anything...

As she ran through the halls the sound of a dozen footfalls could be heard nearby. A group of soldiers rounded the corner down the hallway from her, "Freeze! Down on the ground!"

She didn't think. That strange energy flared in her eyes and the lights all through the corridor exploded into a multitude of wild green sparks, plunging them into darkness except for spurts of more sparks and an eerie green underlight that danced through the corridor. Celeste was already running again, low to the ground, darting around a corner. Handy trick, that, but she felt dizzy. She wasn't sure she could do it again. She slipped into an elevator as quietly as she could and sent it down to the subdeck, leaning back against the wall.

He activated his comm, "She's running captain, and I think I know where. She's going to try and go back down there. What're your orders? We could have the whole EarthGov fleet out here in a couple days."

Lock everything down, Agent, anything to keep her from leaving. I don't want any more EarthGov ships coming out here, we're caught in some kind of field that's keeping us in range of the planet, we can't move.

He nodded and sent the orders over his comm, they would lock down the ship as best they could, particularly the bay areas. He sent extra security forces to reinforce the bulkheads there. Then he headed for those areas himself, though something in the back of his mind told him they wouldn't be able to stop her. She was hiding something about her condition, he feared she held some power that she intentionally withheld to keep them off balance.

Let me know what deck you find her on... There was something in the Commander's voice that probably didn't help his nerves. Her mentioning the Puritan is more important than you know...
